During use it produces no free silica or associated respiratory and environmental hazards. The Ervin brand Steel Grit is produced from select steel scrap, which is subjected to a controlled atomization process and a unique quench & temper thermal treatment, which makes it unparalleled to all producers of metallic abrasives. Steel Grit ranges in Rockwell hardness of 40-60+.and sizes range from 12-120 grit. Steel Grit is commonly used in industries such as: automotive, aerospace, railroad, bridges/infrastructure, shipyards, and foundries. Steel Grit is has excellent recyclability properties which can be up to 1000 to 1 times the life of aluminum oxide, glass beads, mineral abrasives, garnet and slag.
